I will never forget the 29th of April, 2021. I was laying on my bed, drinking a cold can of malt and listening to my favorite musician (Rema). I deserve this much after a long, stressful week of attending to impatient customer complaints at the bank. 

Little did I know my relaxing weekend would turn out to be one of the saddest moments in my life.  

 I always  log into Twitter because i enjoy the endless bants and arguements and also get to check trending topics and interesting events.

While I was going through what’s trending, I saw a post that altered my life forever, (Bola) my friend and flatmate was missing.

But how?

  We only just spoke last night at 9:05 pm on the 28th of April, 2021, she went to the bank to withdraw money from the GTbank bank at Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos.

She needed the cash to transport herself to her late night shift(she is a nurse).

It wasn’t until she was found that she recounted her experience at the hands of her attacker.

She said she was walking when a guy attacked her, she tried to fight back but the guy hit her on the head with a block of wood and she collapsed.

The next time she opened her eyes, her hands and legs were tied and she was in a room with about 10 other people.

They kept them locked in a room and drugged them whenever they took them out to sell to clients, just imagine.

Sometimes, clients came to the house to select and buy. Evil people selling & buying their fellow human beings like animals and probably using them for rituals or organ harvesting.

On the day she escaped, these evil people had taken her to market to one of their clients.

On their way, their car developed faults and they stopped to check it But fortunately for her, they left the car doors open.

As the criminals were busy trying to repair the car, that was when she, fortunately, woke up from the drugged state and  sHe ran for his life.

sHe said they started chasing her but she ran for his life and started shouting kidnappers oh, ole (as in thieves in Yoruba), and ritualists.

sHe was just shouting so that people by the roadside will hear and that was how people started gathering, so the criminals ran back and drove off.

After withdrawing from the atm, she was waiting for her ride who was 25-minutes away from the bank, when an hefty man in a black hoodie jumped out of the shadows with a gun in his hand and dragged her away.

I just thank God for her life!

BUT the truth is Nigeria and even the whole world is no longer as safe as before.

There are evil people on the streets stealing, killing, kidnapping, and doing all sorts of crimes.
