I will never forget the 29th of April, 2021. I was just going through Twitter. Any time I log into Twitter, I check what’s trending and read through any interesting events.

While I was going through what’s threading, I saw a post by a Pharmacist that her colleague at work was missing.

In the tweet, she said that at 9:05 am on the 28th of April, 2021, he went to the bank to deposit money into the pharmacy’s accounts at either Access Bank or GTbank at Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos.

He usually goes to any of the 2 banks that are less busy so he can deposit the cash sales from the day before.

After like 2 hours, another colleague was looking for the guy to help out with something and couldn’t find him and was told that he had gone to the bank for the past 2 hours.

The person was worried because the banks are like a 25-minute drive from the pharmacy and it usually doesn’t take him up to an hour to go to the bank and come back to work.

So they started calling his number, but it was unreachable.

They chatted with him on WhatsApp but his account had been deactivated.

On Twitter, people started saying a lot of things, some even said he had run away with the money.

Some said maybe the police had raided him and taken him to their station.

Others suggested that he may have been involved in an accident and that they should check hospitals.

Different people with different opinions. Some prayed for him, others just started assuming funny things…

The pharmacist said they had lodged a missing person report at the police station according to the law which states that The person in charge of a missing person must report such a case to the nearest police station within 24 hours.

I followed the whole case because I later discovered that the missing person was someone I knew through a mutual friend, I was scared for him.

I called the mutual friend who is close to him to ask for updates and he said they hadn’t found him.

His mother was crying profusely saying he only came to Lagos to work and make a better life for them That he even hated Lagos because of the stress, traffic, and all.

His whole family was worried to death and the only thing they could do was PRAY especially as the police didn’t seem to be taking any serious action.

A week later, my friend called me that he had been found, In fact, he had returned by himself, I was shocked and eager to know what happened.

How had he been kidnapped? did he have an accident? I was just so eager to know what had happened to him.

It was then my friend narrated what had happened, the guy said he was walking when a guy attacked him, he tried to fight back but the guy hit him on the head with a block of wood and he collapsed.

The next time he opened his eyes, his hands and legs were tied and he was in a room with about 10 other people.

They kept them locked in a room and drugged them whenever they took them out to sell to clients, just imagine.

Sometimes, clients came to the house to select and buy. Evil people selling & buying their fellow human beings like animals and probably using them for rituals or organ harvesting.

On the day he escaped, these evil people had taken him to market to one of their clients.

On their way, their car developed faults and they stopped to check it But fortunately for him, they left the car doors open.

As the criminals were busy trying to repair the car, that was when he, fortunately, woke up from the drugged state and  He ran for his life.

He said they started chasing him but he ran for his life and started shouting kidnappers oh, ole (as in thieves in Yoruba), and ritualists.

He was just shouting so that people by the roadside will hear and that was how people started gathering, so the criminals ran back and drove off.

I just thanked God for his life!

BUT the truth is Nigeria and even the whole world is no longer as safe as before.

There are evil people on the streets stealing, killing, kidnapping, and doing all sorts of crimes.
